In volleyball news Philippines, the multi-titled Brazilian coach is the proud owner of Sportville, where the public spikers worked it out for very nearly two weeks in an instructional course planned to set them up for an award finish in the approaching 31st Southeast Asian Games in Hanoi, Vietnam.
PH lead trainer Jorge Edson Souza de Brito was an imperative gear-tooth under Roberto in Brazil’s gold-award men’s group during the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain.
However, Roberto invested more energy in Brazil’s public ladies’ volley program, bringing back the gold decorations from the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2012 London Olympics while ending with a silver award in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.
Volleyball VIPs Alyssa Valdez, Aby Marano, Jaja Santiago, Jema Galanza, Mylene Paat, Ces Molina, and Kat Tolentino modeled for any future family with Roberto. The latter facilitated a standard Brazilian grill supper for the group.
Roberto similarly left middle blockers Ria Meneses, Majoy Baron, Dell Palomata, liberos Dawn Macandili, and Kath Arado and setters Kyle Negrito and Iris Tolenada in stunningness with an extensive rundown of accomplishments for Brazil’s ladies’ crew on the worldwide scene.
“There are no secrets (to success in world volleyball). It’s purely about hard work, hours of practice and repetition and playing against the best teams in the world on a regular basis,”
“Spend plenty of hours in the gyms, learn the fundamental skills and compete against the best teams, best players and best coaches in the world. These things are important to reach the top of the world rankings,’
“We worked hard to become Olympic champions. It’s a continuous process of trying to improve and the need to have good experience against the other teams,”
Said Roberto, who got back from Turkey and Italy on Tuesday in the wake of watching the finals of the Turkish Volleyball League and the elimination rounds of the Italian League.
The Philippine National Volleyball Federation, headed by its leader Ramon “Tats” Suzara has brought the ladies’ crew here for a fourteen-day camp upheld by the Philippine Sports Commission, Philippine Olympic Committee, Rebisco, PLDT, and the City of Taguig.
Mentors Odjie Mamon, Grace Antigua, Raffy Mosuela, Tina Salak, and specialist Grace Gomez have been helping de Brito in their two times per day exercises for the country’s award bid SEA Games on May 12-23.
Brazil is positioned at No. 2 on the planet in ladies’ volleyball.
The PH spikers will go to Manila after winning four of their five tuneup matches against Brazilian groups, an uplifting sign of their status to cull an award in the Hanoi Games where reigning champ Thailand and host Vietnam are the groups to beat.
